Lets try this one again.

Truly an oasis outside the hustle and bustle of the sinful strip.

Lake Las Vegas Resort (I think casino too??) and home to the Xterra West Cup Race.

A lake created by man to start, a bike on the moon which ends with a run on/in the sun. Mr. Whitey (thats me) would be perfectly content with clouds and rain. Last yr I sucked! Bad race.

I would love to shoot a round of golf on this course but the clubs don't fit in my bike box.

Emilys started a new job!!!

Hello, I'm Emily.
I have lots of goals for this year and being better at this blogging thingy is one of them. I've started a new job at The Little Gym being a party director and lead instructor teaching kids gymnastics skills as well as sports skills and dance (even though I can't dance to save my life) I get to hire my own staff for birthday parties and I'm basically the assistant manager of the gym. The gym I'll be working at isn't open yet so for now we are at the Westport one until ours opens in Darien. Today was my first day so it wasn't super duper exciting. I read and filled out lots of papers. My mentors name is Jamie and she is really funny... So we'll see how well this goes. I already love 2010. I have lots of hopes and asperations for this year. Including possibly having a baby of our own! Anyway, happy handstands!

I know is mum was a good person and I believe he is one to.

Whether this was staged or not, the fact that he DID this is what I respect. So many scenarios could have occurred if leaked. I've never heard of ANY of our significant public leaders attempt to relate through experience quite like this. Empathy can only go so far in my eyes. Last I heard America has a serious homeless problem?? Will we soon see any muti-million dollar tax grubbin politicians spend a night away from there castle on the streets, I THINK NOT!!

Shh, Dave is asleep!

Hi, Dave is always asking me if I have looked at the blog. Usually the answer is no because, well.... does anyone look at it? I don't know.
We have been have a lot of fun this holiday season so far. Fun Christmas parties, and good friends. The only thing missing is the Utah part of the family to make this season as bright as it could be. But we will keep on, keepin on with out them. But they'll be in our hearts (especially mine,) I know that for sure!
It has been a really rough month for me, losing my job and therefore the children I have loved and cared for, for so long. Its been heart breaking and its been a learning experience. I'm hoping I will come out on top, and a stronger person. Its a daily fight to not break down and give up sometimes. But the friends and family I have out here have been very helpful and very supportive. I've had interviews at The Little Gym in Westport and I'm crossing my fingers that it will all work out for the best. At least for me, if things don't work out for Lisa, well then, that's her problem and her fault! SO THERE!
We've had some of our really good friends get married this holiday season (Congrats Ry and Jess and Moose and Jess!!!) We've also had some super fun parties, including our own impromptu get together After Crazy Christmas Tree day...

We got ourselves a little Christmas tree on Crazy Christmas Tree day, and I think we've done it up really nice, and pretty.
..

Its supposed to snow 10-16 inches tonight, but we are heading out to yet another (and last one) Christmas party... oh crap, it isn't the last one. AHHH these Christmas parties are going to kill me!
Well, I'm real proud of myself for doing this little bloggy thing-a-ma-jig. Hope you enjoyed it if there is anyone out there that does read this. Merry Christmas!!!!
Love, Em.

party

Ugly Christmas sweater or just a plain ugly holiday sweater, u get it, put it on and you have an excuse to party and rock around the Christmas tree. Whatever, just give me some egg nog minus the raw egg and maybe a pig-in-the-blanket or two. Will be fun as always partying with great friends, great food and good spirits. BTW, its amazing how many ugly Christmas sweaters are on ebay. I liked the one below and didn't think it was all to ugly but the price was, $130 BUCKS C'MON MAN! IT WAS USED TOO!
I wonder what brand of bike that is and what Santa's listening to??

Em slept, i raced.

I was glad to be part of history on Saturday by racing in Long Island's first EVER mountain bike endurance race! This too was my first ever endurance mtb race..
Emily gave her support by joining me on race day but decided to sleep 6hours (in the car, yes in the car) while i rode for 6hours.
Getting a podium was not my concern, finishing was. My game plan was to average 10mph for 6laps on a 10mile loop equaling 6hrs. I accomplished 6 and could have went out for 1more lap but was a lazy bum and called it a day. Next year i want to train for this and place top3 but a 5th place CAT1 30-39 will do for now:)

Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers, i don't like loooong posts but anyway.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.. 'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Spend time with your children.
Spend time with your parents .
Visit with grandparents.
Enjoy your friendships.

Ride a bike.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your spouse out to dinner.
Play another 18.
There will always be time to clean the house.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just pebbles & sand.

Lastly, one of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.' The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

This was just emailed to me. I get it and like the point of it all but i think your job & home should be golf balls and not pebbles:)

nice 'ghostly' escape

Just saw paranormal activity..........the movie, very mixed emotions about it. The scariest part was knowing my $8.75 was making these $15,000 film makers RICH! I need to get a hold of vid camera.

Break, what break......Winter fun is here!

I like to do and try to many things. Sporting activities that is. 08 started my xterra/triathlon obsession as well as my first yr racing winter triathlon (specifically the winter xterra). I've skied 20yrs but it wasn't until racing this event that it opened a new form of ski racing and equipment to me. Randonee or ski mountaineering. Really big in the Alp countries, popular in rocky mtn states but not big here in the east coast. Hence, finding gear and people to go with HARD so practice is done solo on in-bound groomers. This year im hoping to go for a hat trick competing in the xterra winter worlds . Last 2yrs have been fun but way, way sub-par (1styr injury, 2ndyr mechanical). My approach this year "hopefully", prior to winter xterra worlds, is to try and race some local (local being 4+hrs away) randonee and snowshoe races. I will treat myself to a lift ticket on my recovery days and shred the park:), totally gnar dude! Sorry.
