What a crazy week out in Utah.
1. broken bike fork=running around to try and fix
2. squeezing in
training @ altitude without completely ignoring everyone
2. Emily's best friend had to get both her kidneys removed
3. My brother in-laws uncle died
4. My grandfather died
5. scrambling to find a flight home for an extra stupid $400!
6. no
utah xterra :(
While out in utah:
I flew in
friday night and was reunited with my wife Emily and enjoyed some good time and
mex food. Sat. decided to put my bike together and get ready for some riding, or not?! My fork wasn't compressing so I took it down to an awesome place called
timpanogas cycle which had the best service around and in a days time a tech took a look @ my fork, took it apart and diagnosed its illness with a blown ring/seal (about 4hrs of work, same day day squeeze me in service for only $38!). Bottom line was that fork wasn't racing so my back up plan was taken off of Emily's bike and consisted of her minute fork on my bike. My bike appeared to work but not nearly as close to its top performance. It was like putting cheap brakes on a
Ferrari. The guys at the local bike shop told be to test ride the bike over @ alpine loop up by
sundance. It was one of the most
beautiful rides
i've done.
