Home before Emily awakes!

Totally did not feel up to racing but did anyway! I talked myself into rolling out of bed around 4:30am. Got to the race with lots of time to spare and warm-up. My coaches(from targetraining) raced and were rock solid, they cleaned up shop coming in: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th.
I finished the day:
19th of 355 overall
4th 30-34AG

The beard needs some aero trimming. The wind resistence was amazing....not really.

Got home around 9:30, woke Emily up and had a great breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries, coffee and juice.

2nd on road tri under the belt as well as the end my first semi-serious triathlon year. Im gonna put the work in the off season/winter and not mess around in 09!

NEXT: Gonna try my go as a rookie in cyclocross, Kill it on the ski slopes, maybe try a winter triathlon then buckle down for the Winter Xterra Chamionships in march @ snowbasin/utah!!

Race or no race my entrance fee will go to a good cause.

So I will hopefully try to end the season with a local race. Injury seems to come over me like a plague. I've gotten about a week-n-half of training (1day of swimming since august12th) to prepare. As I stated in the title, regardless of what I do my contribution will be helpful. No expectations except for a good practice and to gain more experience in my 2nd on-road tri.
Distances: Swim - 0.5 mile; Bike - 15.0 miles; Run - 5.0 miles. experience

Fall is here!!

This Saturday was a great ride with the crew from Targetraining. I love riding this time of year throughout CT. Trees are changing and the air is crisp. I was under dressed going out @ 7 with temps. in the 40s! We went out pretty hard, the sun began to shine and I started to defrost.

After the ride I scooped up Emily and we enjoyed some good ol diner food!

Free market my butt!

Since when do we rely on government to intervene in every case of a failing business? If anyone wonders why we have such a mess on our hands, look no further than our boneheaded government that has obviously forgotten its way. Think of this week's action within the financial markets is a result, not the cause of our problems.

AIG is in a battle for its very existence, Merrill has been absorbed and Lehman is bankrupt. And we're only part way through the week. What's next?

These days, many people are wondering what our government will do to stop the insanity. Yet, in a capitalistic society that relies on a free market system, we should only look to the government to guide and regulate against fraud and the manipulation of the system. Sometimes known as a laissez-faire philosophy, the government has a role, but it is not to be a business partner and a sugar daddy there to provide a backstop to the bad business practices of the banking system.

In a blink of an eye!

It's amazing to think 1yr ago we were in Utah getting married and soon after off to Maui for the honeymoon.
*NOTE* Our anniversary will be bumped down a weekend considering we had plans that got interrupted from hurricane Hanna.

We will rock out this weekend @ Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino (Emily's first trip there) and hopefully hit millions on the nickel slots!
