Ems birthday blog
And so, I just turned 27. That is freaking crazy. I have a whole load of goals for this 27th year of my life but my most important goal is working on being a more positive and upbeat person.
Hopefully this year I will get to have a child of my own (wink wink Dave) and we can start our own family. In the mean time I am really enjoying my job. My little Matthew has turned out to be a pretty darn cool 7 year old. I can not believe I have been out here for 7 years. My little boy has grown up right before my eyes... except for he isn't mine.

Now, my little baby Courtney may be my most favorite thing in the world, every time I look at her I wish she was mine. She is such a wonderful baby. I'm so lucky to get to be part of her life. I am learning a lot from her and I can only hope and pray that my kids end up even a little bit like her. Her temperment is amazing and she is always happy.

Now, for my two loves of my life. My little Moseley had his bestfriend Flynn over for a 5 night sleep over, they are CRAZY together and couldn't be better for each other. If you put the two together they would make a perfect dog. I am biased because I would want that dog to look like Moseley but Flynn is such a snuggle buddy.
As you know Dave is amazing. He doesn't
like to toot his own horn but I'll do it
for him because I am SO damn proud. He is my light, he is my energizer bunny, he is my rock star. Its not very often that Dave takes a day off to live other parts of his life but when he does I delight in having him around, even if all we do is argue about what we should watch on TV.
Now, on a much less exciting note, I have started physical therapy for my back and my foot. The Drs don't know what is wrong with my foot, after blood tests and x-rays and seeing a specialist I still have no answers, which is really frusturating because I am in constant pain. I walk with a limp and it ain't because I'm cool. As for my back I have something called Spondelolysis which is NOT spondelytis... so calm down. Its just a very fancy way of saying my spine is twisted and out of wack. But I love my pyshical therapist, she is so nice and helpful and she laughs at my jokes... which is nice since no one else out here seems to half the time.
Life is good, life is busy, I miss my friends and family and Utah, especially when in starts getting hot outside. But I am greatful for Connecticut and the wonderful friends I have here and I love my husband so I think I'll stay a while... perhaps another 7 years.

Cat 1 Start H3 | Root 66 Bunny Hopbrook Dam on CyclingDirt
First Mountain Bike Race of 2009. Still learning the tricks of the trade in MTB racing. It seems that at the start of these races a full out HARD sprint for at least the first 20min is inevitable. Ewwwwh!
www.cyclingdirt.org was there with some coverage and interviews. Video below has the first small hill climb of the race, i think im 8th at the start, boy was it muddy and cold.
Cool site!

First Duathlon, ended up being a good one:)
Yesterday I did my first duathlon ever and finish 3rd overall out of 153. It was the 10th Annual Brian's Beachside Boogie2 Mile Run/10 Mile Bike/2 Mile Run. I'm happy and sad, happy cause it was my first true top 3 podium finish (not an age-group) and sad cause wifey and moseley weren't there. I was only about 10 sec behind 2nd and I'm sure if Emily was there screamin at me to push it, I maybe could've caught him. I love when Emily comes to my races.
A bunch of people from my gym/club targetraining kicked butt as well! Its posted on there blog http://www.targetraining.com/TTBlog.html. TT has great coaches, great people and great athletes.
This weekend the first mountain bike race of the yr and its gonna be tough considering its only my second yr racing mtb and I'm gonna be mixed in with pros. I will surely be intimidated!
