I like coffee but............

So i read this article in the journal which noted the process and where abouts for the most expensive coffee in the world. I found it very interesting, mostly because it made me think who the heck was the first person to TRY THIS! Below is just a simple description from wiki.

Kopi Luwak (pronounced [ˈkopi ˈluwaʔ]) or Civet coffee is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civet populations. The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested. This process takes place on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago, in the Philippines (where the product is called Motit Coffee in the Cordillera, or Kape Alamid in Tagalog areas) and in East Timor (locally called kafé-laku). Local lore in Vietnam has given the name "weasel coffee" to civet coffee, in what is considered the closest recognizable translation to English.

Hi! I'm a cute little fella uh?
Well, I have a little secret;
I poop out the finest and most
expensive coffee bean
in the world! Yeah people like
my poop in the morning.
MY coffee is prepared using coffee cherries that have been eaten by ME, partially digested, and harvested from MY poop.
Prices for this delicacy in 2009 ranged from USD$300 in the Philippines, to USD$1400 in the US, per pound weight clean.

MY POOP IS BLING BLINGIN!

New form of cross-training.

First off if you haven't noticed from this post and the post below, i like Syracuse. My first college experience was a Syracuse basketball game back when i was a tot. I've liked em ever since.

Anyways yesterday i played lax for the first time in 11yrs, it was so much fun! I was rusty and played bad but expected it. I forgot how great a workout lacrosse is and the wonderful physical play of it all. I'm still more scared of a crazy open water swim start then getting slashed by a metal stick. Since Tuesday nights were normally my track/speed intervals this was a great alternative, pretty much 100's hard, fast, short, repeat!

The craziest thing of all is how much equipment has changed for the better. I was describing it to one of my cycling buddies on a ride the other night and noted much of the same material to construct a road/mtb bike are used in making lacrosse product. Carbon fiber, alloy, plastic, etc. Both 1998 bikes and lacrosse gear has much improved in the 11yrs!

Mossman Sprint Triathlon, Norwalk, CT

Its so much fun to have a decent size race (675 participants) in your hometown. Especially when the water is glass, run is flat and Emily and mom scream while i race!

14th Overall (I wanna win this race so bad, next yr!)
2nd Age-Group (:24 seconds behind 1st, damn, must dig deeper!)

My hybrid bike worked ok, i guess. Will post pictures to show its not exactly a Tri-bike.

2007 Specialized Tri-cross (cyclecross bike/Road Bike/Tri-Bike)

State of the art brakes!

Sweet wheels I got to use from the shop (more then the bike itself).

Uh?? How can i describe? Slap/squeeze on some aero-bars and wahla! This setup and my position was once again tested in the most state of the art wind tunnel........

My ultra lightweight pedals (my only pedals). Totally worth the money considering i use them for 4 kinds of bike racing.

Worst part of the day, transitions....
T1 1:07 (WHAT!? top 10 avg :40sec)
T2 :56sec (WHAT!? top 10 avg :34sec)
Need practice, combined 'would've' shaved 1min of overall time! Maybe? Trial by error.

BEST PART OF THE DAY, FIRST 2009 TRIATHLON FINISH WITHOUT A FLAT!!!

2 AGAIN? I really think I forget how to ride on race day.

calvin angry

Please just 1 Xterra 09 race were nothing goes wrong?!

-Horrible swim
-Flat 'riding' the first half of the bike (me the rider was flat NOT the course), 2 Flat 'tires' during, they were more like complete air loss pinch burp thingy's....each took at least 2-4 considering mud got into EVERYTHING.
-weak run, i stink @ running, got passed by every pro women i passed on the bike , Lost 5+min on run? wHo KnOwS??

Why can't i race as good as i train!? Guess that's why racing can be so difficult?

BTW my Age-Group has some serious athletes! Its gonna be a tough mission to run em dwn!

I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR UTAH, I THINK? Gotta do the race out there with family and friends around. The support/cheering pushes u a bit further. I scrubbed the list and I'm SCRAPIN to get in ( I hate doing it this way ).

8-2-09, 3weeks, Xterra PA, 6hr Drive
8-9-09, 4weeks, Xterra NH, 3:45hr Drive
8-16-09, 5weeks, Xterra NY, 4hr Drive
